Tribute page for Dr Ralph Saxe

Diana & Terry Coleman

I would like to send my heart felt sorrow to his ex wife and daughter, and to Joanne his present wife after the recent accident. Ralph was our Doctor for many years until recent times. He will missed by many of his patients. Ralph always had a cheerful voice always happy and caring. He had a smile that seems to melt a pain away. We will miss you Dr Ralph Saxe. God bless you - You're safe in Gods hands. Heaven now has a wonderful doctor. God bless the Ireland family too. Joanne, it's hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing that you were a special part of a well-loved life, when the lord called your loved one home, he leaves you a gift of "memories" in exchange. Hold on to your memories and let them guide you during this time of sadness.

Kindest regards Diana & Terry Coleman Ex patients (the Palms PNth)

Dr Alistair Sullivan

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of Dr Ralph Saxe in a tragic accident this week.

I first met Ralph in 1998 as a member of the original ACC working party tasked with creating a nationwide standard for a new arrival in community medicine; the Accident and Medical clinic.

In the intervening years I met and corresponded with him on numerous occasions and discovered his deep passion for innovation in community medicine. As a person he was warm and engaging with a unique sense of humour.

Ralph was one of our earliest medical entrepreneurs who believed that much of what was done in healthcare could be done better and smarter by truly understanding what patients wanted.

New Zealand's medical profession has lost a true pioneering spirit whose absence will be sorely felt.

My condolences and thoughts go out to his family, friends and close colleagues.
