Radius Medical acquires shares in The Doctors, Hastings
Radius Medical group has acquired 25.1% of The Doctors (Hastings) Ltd, becoming a shareholder alongside doctor shareholders. Radius Medical Solutions has for many years provided its full set of medical centre management services to support the running of the practice.
Radius Medical group CEO, Adri Isbister comments: “We are delighted to have deepened our involvement in this successful Hastings practice. The Doctors, Hastings has a strong team providing an excellent service to their patients, and is just the kind of medical centre we seek to co-invest in alongside doctor shareholders, as part of our continuing growth strategy. We believe we can add further value to the governance and strategic direction of this leading Hastings practice.”
The Doctors, Hastings cares for 10,700 enrolled patients on two sites, the main medical centre in central Hastings and a satellite clinic in Waipawa. Open seven days, it is an ACC-endorsed accident and medical centre as well as a Cornerstone accredited GP practice.
The Doctors (Hastings) Ltd chairman, Dr Hannes Meyer, comments: “Radius Medical is a natural business partner for us, as they are already a stakeholder in our practice through their management services. We’ve worked with them over many years and I’m confident that this further level of involvement will greatly benefit our business planning and our continued growth and development.”
The share sale was effective 2 April 2012. The balance of shares is held by working doctor shareholders.
