Meet our doctors:
Indira Edwards MBBS FRNZCGP
I have been in general practice in New Zealand since 1993 and working at Radius Medical since 2003. I enjoy caring for families and offer a comprehensive primary care service with an accent on keeping well.
Dr Joanne McKnight MBBS MRCGP
Joanne took her medical degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, in northern England, and went on to complete a three year general practice training course in the same city. Her most recent position has been in a rural practice in Lanchester, County Durham, in the north east of the UK.
Joanne has a particular interest in elderly care medicine, old age psychiatry and dermatology. During her sabbatical year in NZ, she held a senior house surgeon post in obstetrics and gynaecology at Ata Rangi, the maternity unit at Hawkes Bay Hospital in Hastings.
Joanne enjoys reading music, cinema and theatre, and after living in NZ developed an interest in skiing and sea kayaking.
Dr Christopher McKnight BSc MBChB MRCGP
Chris graduated BSc from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and went on to complete his medical degree at Manchester University. He has complete his general practice vocational training scheme mainly in Tyne and Wear, and during 2010, was a medical registrar at Hawkes Bay Hospital.
Chris enjoys the full range of general practice work, and has a special interest in minor surgery, dermatology, and elder care.
He enjoys most outdoor activities, particularly skiing and cycling, but also enjoys football, rugby, playing the guitar and reading.
Dr Stijn De Ruijter
We are delighted to welcome Dr Stijn de Ruijter from the Netherlands. He brings general practice experience and an interest in minor surgery and trauma care to Whakatane. He enjoys the mixture of clinical work provided by general practice. Stijn is accepting new patients.
