"I could go off to the Cup, confident things wouldn't fall apart because Radius Medical Solutions was there to support our staff."  In 2007, Whakatane GP Lorraine Anderson took several months off to go to the Rugby World Cup in France, an impossible dream before she joined Radius.

The Radius Medical shareholding in her practice, previously Total Health Doctors, meant she could take her first real holiday since opening in 1999.

The practice experienced huge growth, with patient numbers increasing 25% every quarter in the early years. Lorraine found the paperwork relating to patient enrolment, Ministry of Health funding and compliance was enormous, as well as being a steep and endless learning curve.

"I enjoyed the management side, but I don't have business and administration training and wanted to lose some of that workload," she says.

Now Lorraine can dedicate more hours to patients, who get earlier appointments with her instead of referrals to other practice doctors. Streamlined management has brought greater efficiencies.

Staff love the new systems because they have support from Radius Medical and can tap into its wide information network. The practice accreditation process is now complete, after being a time consuming struggle before joining Radius.
