Fees & charges
A chart of standard patient charges is displayed in each medical centre's reception area, and on their webpage on this site. There is a higher charge for consultations after we close, whether we see you at the centre or at your home. If you’re not sure what you will be charged, please ask our receptionists.
All practices in our group are a member of a local Primary Health Organsation (PHO) which funds the practice for the care of enrolled patients. Enrolled patients pay less than casual patients to see the doctor or nurse, and also have access to many free or part-funded services such as chronic care clinics. Some procedures are also funded by the government, including childhood immunisations and maternity care supplementary to your Lead Maternity Carer in the first trimester.
If you are a New Zealand resident the government also pays for most of each ACC claim, although you will be expected to pay a part charge and the cost of materials that ACC doesn’t cover.
Payment
To keep our fees at a reasonable level, we expect payment on the day you receive your treatment. We understand that illness can strike at any time and you may not always be able to pay your bill on the day. However payment is expected as soon as possible after that.
Enrolled patients may apply for account facilities, at our discretion. Terms and conditions apply – please ask the receptionist for further information.
If you have difficulty paying your account, please let our receptionist know or write to us so that we can come to some agreement on how you will pay. If no agreement is made, a warning will be sent to you advising that the account will be handed over to a collection agency.
If your account is sent to the collection agency, your name, address and the amount owing will be supplied with no information about the services provided. In addition to our collection fee, the collection agency will also add their costs to the outstanding debt, and may inform hire purchase or other companies that you have a debt with us.
