We serve the rural township of Waipawa and surrounding areas. The practice is computerised using MedTech 32 patient management system, and as a satellite clinic of The Doctors, Hastings, we are fully supported by the Hastings practice team.
The doctors at the centre are supported by three experienced practice nurses and two receptionists. Minor surgical procedures, blood tests, nurse specialty clinics and a visiting midwife are available at the practice. Further services, including mental health services, visiting specialists, district nurse and investigations clinic are just seven kilometres away, in Waipukurau.
Enrolled patients are also welcome to visit The Doctors Hastings which is open 7 days, 8 am to 8 pm weekdays, 8am - 6pm weekends. Our doctors also take part in the Hastings roster.
The closest base hospital is Hawke’s Bay Regional Hospital, 50 kms away in Hastings. This is a 400-bed accredited facility and regional centre for acute services. It provides medical, surgical, specialist assessment and rehabilitation services. Ambulance services can be at the practice within 10 minutes and it takes approximately another 40 to reach the hospital.
